About your team / Ko te tīma
You will be part of the Inspectorate Programme team, which will deliver WorkSafe's Inspectorate Plan and support related initiatives within our new approach to Enforcement. Our team comprises delivery leads, business analysts and change management people. The team will work closely with subject matter experts within the Inspectorate and across supporting teams. We work in a fast-paced hybrid-Agile environment with a focus on transparency, collaboration and hard work.
The Inspectorate Plan is about uplifting our Inspectorate with the right processes, systems and technology so that WorkSafe delivers integrated, responsive, and consistent activities as a regulator across New Zealand– so this is critical mahi for the health and safety of Aotearoa New Zealand!
About the role / Ō te tūranga
Reporting to the Programme Delivery Lead, this role is pivotal to designing how WorkSafe delivers its inspectorate role. We have designed our overarching approach and plan, but we now need to ensure we have the detailed business processes, tools, and methodologies that will support our kaimahi to deliver this work. The work you deliver will be picked up by others (including technology, change, learning) and needs to align to our overarching approach – so collaboration and communication are essential. You will participate in integrated sprint planning and daily stand-ups to ensure alignment, which will enable you to then get on with doing the doing.
There are two Fixed Term roles available.
What You'll Do/ Ko tōu ake mahi
- Use a transformative design approach to analyse existing business processes, identify inefficiencies, and lead the development of future-state processes.
- Conduct gap analyses, facilitate design workshops, and deliver process mapping and modelling outputs that directly inform system requirements.
- Apply risk assessment frameworks, regulatory alignment strategies, and Agile methodologies to drive continuous improvement and enhance compliance services.
What You'll Bring / Ko ngā pukenga ōu
- Experience in business analysis and process mapping preferably within a regulatory environment
- Facilitation and communication skills, as well as a deep understanding of process optimisation, stakeholder engagement, and change delivery.
- Able to present complex concepts clearly and build consensus. This will be critical as you work with cross-functional teams and guide the implementation of new processes and technologies
- Experience with technical writing (for example drafting procedures) is an advantage.

Salary range / Awhe utu
As part of our remuneration framework the full salary range for the position is from $94,399 to $123,974 and we anticipate appointing around the midpoint. Note: KiwiSaver/SSRSS employer contribution is additional to/on top of your base salary.
