About your team / Ko te tīma
Sitting within the Corporate Group, the People and Capability business unit supports WorkSafe with:
- HR operations (HR Advice and Recruitment)
- internal health, safety and wellbeing
- organisational development/ learning & development
We provide support and advice across the full employee lifecycle, and for the provision of strategic and tactical advice related to employment relations, safety, health and wellbeing, recruitment including offboarding and onboarding, organisation development including learning and development, performance and culture.
About the role / Ō te tūranga
As one of two People & Capability Coordinators, you'll play a vital role in supporting the smooth delivery of HR, Organisational Development and Health, Safety and Wellbeing services across WorkSafe. This position sits at the heart of our People & Capability function, providing high‑quality administrative and coordination support across the full employee lifecycle. You'll help keep our records accurate and up to date, support reporting activity, prepare and process documentation, maintain employee files, and ensure our systems run efficiently and effectively. You'll provide coordination and administrative support across the entire P&C team, including organisational development and health & safety activities, and deliver key support to our Chief People Officer with a range of coordination tasks.
What You'll Do/ Ko tōu ake mahi
- Be the first point of contact for P&C queries via various inboxes, delivering responsive support and escalating to the appropriate teams.
- Provide general administrative support to our Chief People Officer.
- Keep our P&C systems and records running smoothly — maintaining accurate employee data, managing documentation, and preparing employment‑related letters.
- Coordinate end‑to‑end administrative support across the wider P&C team, including team meetings and events.
- Help champion wellbeing and health & safety by coordinating initiatives, maintaining H&S systems, and supporting the collation of key data and insights.
- Provide recruitment coordination support, including onboarding processes and compliance checks.
What You'll Bring / Ko ngā pukenga ōu
- Proven experience providing administration or coordination support, with confidence managing documentation, data and processes.
- Strong relationship‑building skills, with the ability to work positively and professionally with a wide range of people.
- Excellent organisation skills and attention to detail — able to juggle multiple tasks, stay on top of deadlines and maintain high accuracy.
- Sound judgement and problem‑solving ability, especially when working under pressure or navigating complex P&C related queries.
- Clear and confident communication skills, with experience drafting professional documentation and correspondence (such as letters, guidelines and procedural content).

Salary range / Awhe utu
As part of our remuneration framework, the expected appointment salary is $74,174-$81,612 (KiwiSaver/SSRSS employer contributions of 3.5% are additional).
