About your team / Ko te tīma

Enterprise Planning and Implementation is a new group established at WorkSafe to strengthen planning, coordination, and implementation across the organisation, particularly to improve how work is prioritised, sequenced, and supported through to delivery.  

The Regulatory Intelligence team provides intelligence and insights that help WorkSafe understand risk, identify emerging issues, and make informed decisions. Working across the organisation and with external partners, the team delivers intelligence products that support operational, tactical, and strategic regulatory activity.

About the role / Ō te tūranga

As a Senior Intelligence Analyst, you'll play a key role in developing and delivering intelligence that informs organisational priorities and regulatory action. You'll work with a wide range of information sources to identify patterns, risks, and emerging issues, providing high-quality intelligence products and expert advice that support decision-making at all levels. This is an opportunity to apply your analytical expertise to work that makes a tangible difference to workplace health and safety across New Zealand.

What You'll Do/ Ko tōu ake mahi

• Develop intelligence products for strategic and operational decisions
• Lead intelligence processes and analytical approaches
• Identify intelligence gaps and coordinate information collection
• Provide expert advice on intelligence methodology and tools
• Build partnerships across government and stakeholder groups
• Translate complex information into actionable intelligence

• Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality intelligence products
• Strong understanding of intelligence analysis methodologies and practices
• Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving capability
• Proven ability to influence decision-making through clear communication
• Strong relationship-building skills with a diverse range of stakeholders
• Qualification in intelligence, criminology, analytics, or a related discipline is desirable

Salary range / Awhe utu

As part of our remuneration framework, the expected appointment base salary is $112,754 -$124,480  (KiwiSaver/SSRSS employer contributions are additional). From 1 April 2026 our KiwiSaver employer contribution increased to 3.5%.

This vacancy has been established as part of changes to WorkSafe's organisational structure after a review of WorkSafe's operating model identified opportunities to improve role clarity, ways of working and organisational effectiveness.
