About your team / Ko te tīma

Regulatory Effectiveness is a new group established at WorkSafe to strengthen regulatory focus and improve how WorkSafe understands risk, designs interventions, and evaluates impact.

The Product Design and Development team sits within Regulatory Effectiveness and works across WorkSafe Mahi Haumaru to improve the quality, consistency and impact of regulatory guidance, tools and advice.

About the role / Ō te tūranga

This 18-month fixed term role will support WorkSafe Mahi Haumaru through a transition period by leading discovery and analysis of existing guidance content, tools, systems and processes. You will help identify risk, gaps, duplication and opportunities to strengthen how regulatory guidance is prioritised, maintained and improved.  Working with the team, you will ensure fit for purpose guidance development processes and tools are in place.

What You'll Do/ Ko tōu ake mahi

• Lead workstreams to review and improve regulatory guidance
• Analyse guidance tools, systems and processes to identify risk, and ensure fit for purpose processes and tools are in place to support guidance, tools and education resources
• Develop clear advice, reports and briefings for senior leaders
• Plan and manage project milestones, dependencies and deliverables
• Provide practical options to support timely decisions and delivery

What You'll Bring / Ko ngā pukenga ōu

• Experience advising senior leaders in a complex organisation
• Strong analytical skills and ability to turn evidence into insight
• Experience reviewing or developing guidance, policy or tools
• Project planning capability and confidence managing deliverables
• Ability to collaborate, influence and communicate with clarity
• Understanding of regulatory or public sector environments is desirable

Salary range / Awhe utu

As part of our remuneration framework, the full salary range for this role is $130,588 -$171,709. The expected appointment base salary is $130,588 - $144,295 (KiwiSaver/SSRSS employer contributions are additional). From 1 April 2026 our KiwiSaver employer contribution increased to 3.5%.
