About your team - Ko te tīma
You'll join the Strategy Implementation Group, working within the Data & Insights Programme, one of WorkSafe's key programmes enabling the successful delivery of the Health and Safety Reforms.
The team brings together specialists from across WorkSafe including change, business analysis, strategy implementation and dedicated delivery resources. You'll be working closely with Business Leads, technical specialists and stakeholders from across the agency to ensure data and insights enable better decision‑making for WorkSafe and the wider system.
About the role - Ō te tūranga
This secondment is for a 12-month period and an exciting opportunity to lead delivery of WorkSafe's Health and Safety Reforms data enablers, supporting both internal teams and external stakeholder outcomes. The programme operates a hybrid‑Agile delivery model with established rhythms—quarterly planning, sprint cycles, daily stand-ups, showcase sessions and structured governance.
As Delivery Lead, you'll be pivotal in ensuring these processes run smoothly, supporting squads to deliver high‑quality technical solutions across our Data Management Platform, advance our Power BI capability, and contribute to the evolution of our AI and analytics ecosystem. You'll ensure delivery stays on track, aligns with WorkSafe's Letter of Expectations, and meets the needs of business leads and programme stakeholders.
What You'll Do - Ko tōu ake mahi
- Lead delivery planning including quarterly planning, sprint planning and roadmap management
- Drive agile delivery rhythms such as daily stand-ups, retrospectives and showcases
- Monitor and report programme progress to ELT, Board and Ministerial audiences
- Engage closely with business leads, technical specialists and stakeholders to ensure successful delivery
- Identify, manage and escalate risks, issues, and dependencies across the programme
- Ensure quality control, effective change impacts and business readiness
- Support squads to deliver high‑quality data and analytics products
- Embed a te ao Māori approach in stakeholder engagement and delivery practices
What You'll Bring - Ko ngā pukenga ōu:
- Experience leading projects or programmes in Agile, hybrid‑Agile or time‑boxed environments
- Strong background in delivering data or analytics solutions (Azure Synapse, Power BI or similar)
- Ability to quickly step into a programme already underway and deliver to existing milestones
- Strong communication, planning and influencing capability
- Proven stakeholder engagement experience, including working with senior leaders
- Project management or Agile certification (e.g. PMI, Prince2, Scrum Master or Product Owner)
